I'm lovin' it!

This is really a great modem. I have experienced downlink speeds north of 5Mbps-6Mbps, and the uplink was at 1.35Mbps. It's very small, stylish and handy. I'd say it's the first "Bang & Olufsen" of the USB modems.

What's also good is that you have all the software on the device itself, so you don't need an installation CD, and you also get a "Y" USB cable with two ends in the PC so you get maximum power effect. However, you also get a nice laptop screen clip, which is nifty to have.

You don't need to stick on that bit of velcro tape like with the Huawei E220. I'm very happy with this one, if for any other reason, it'd be because the connector is male-pin as opposed to female, which always requires a cable (something one tends to misplace!).

The Huawei E220 is a good modem too, but I can't stand it dangling off the side of my leg. Very annoying. However, a really nice feature is the multi-colored LED which shows a range of alternating colors depending on your connection mode.  RED=DEAD, GREEN=GPRS, PURPLE=EDGE, BLUE=UMTS, YELLOW=HSDPA, CYAN=HSUPA. For the untrained eye, some of these colors can be confusing, but if you know you can't get EDGE anyway, then be mostly on the lookout for yellow and blue. big_smile
